Tongue-tie solved!

So, many things had happened since the last entry. I hired a breastfeeding consultant from TBAN called Patreena because I just felt so much pain breastfeeding Rei. Thought I wanted to make this right once and for all. She came and after checking on Rei, said she suspected her to have mild tongue tie issue as well as lip tie. My breastfeeding method is all correct so its only her tongue. Felt a bit relieved that its not because I don't know how to be latched. But also felt frustrated because the issue (the pain) wasn't really solved there and then. I had to bring Rei to a paediatric clinic should I decide to snip it for good. Mum hadn't heard of tongue tie before so she did research and also asked Rui about it.

So I decided to go to Dr. Koe's clinic at OUG. We went the on Saturday morning after I made an appointment. We were the last customer. Didn't have to wait long. The clinic felt friendly and I love the staffs. Dr. Koe is a patient doctor who took time to explain everything clearly. She assessed little Rei's tongue tie. In terms of functionality, she got 9/14. Appearance wise was only 4/10. So the doctor diagnosed her as tongue tied and recommended the snip of 2mm. Rei cried like mad during the few seconds procedure. The actual snip took only one second and she was quickly transferred to me for breastfeeding. Rei cried while being breastfed. Really like very kesian only. She has never cried like this before, like very very sad. Wonderfully, I don't feel the pain already during feeding! The effect was instantaneous.

So after that, at night, Yang and I had a rough time with Rei because she didn't want to sleep but to cry and latch and be fed. It was almost non stop. Got one she drank already and then she fell asleep on my tummy. I left her be and slept myself too. Then when want to transfer her to bed, she cried. And looked like she wants milk again. I also tried side lying feeding. Worked at the end.
