Week 30: As big as Motorcycle Helmet

So my cramps were in fact Braxton Hicks! But doctor said, why you only mostly feel in the morning. It should be whole day. Haha! Well, I did feel it other than mornings. Just mild cramps. Nothing to be worried about :)

Anyway, during that appointment too, I found out our little one is XL size! Never would have thought it! I was at Week 29 Day 6 then and she was measured at Week 33-34. She did look bigger somehow on the ultrasound (we forgot to take picture of the TV monitor) compared to 3 weeks ago during the detailed scan. So doctor asked me to cut down carbs and do exercise. Well, I also mentioned to him that I was taking maternal milk (Anmum). He asked me to stop drinking that too because that one gives lots of calories too. If she continues growing too fast, I might have to deliver by 5th September either by inducing or C-sect. In my heart, I wouldn't really mind a C-sect because I was afraid of the pain during labour! But after giving it some thought, I think it would still be better to go all natural because I don't want to be given epidural which would hurt my back in the long run and the recovery after such major surgery is longer.

Why does my tummy look like a big blob of slime. HAHA! I guess you can see the linea nigra. My linea is a little off-centred though. Oh, and based on this picture, I guess you can also see my white stretch marks? :O

So I have been taking more care on my diet. Here and there. First off, of course, no more maternal milk! And I had twice quinoa lunch. Other than that, I reduce my sugary drinks intake even though I didn't really consume them that much back then too. So after a few days of trying, I managed to drop about 1 kg! I would say most of the weight dropped was due to maternal milk. I also did more consistent exercise. 30 minutes a day. I find that I have more energy after having consistent exercise. Less body ache and more flexible.

Baby was also sunny side up albeit having her body upside down. Not to be worried yet I think because doctor didn't voice his concern. But I am doing my best to not lie down too much and also when I sit, I try not to lean too much. I heard this might help the baby to turn around facing my backbone - the best delivery position!

These few days, I gave more thought on my coming labour. Suddenly thought about my climb up Mount Kinabalu. I remember the day before the climb, I looked up at the intimidating yet gorgeous mountain thinking that wow, could I actually climb all the way up there, so high? But I did. I did! I guess I am feeling kind of the same with this pregnancy and labour thing. I am looking at labour now thinking, wow, am I strong enough to go through that and deliver her well? I guess I should believe in myself that I could. Then I would look back and pat myself on the back saying, 'Job well done!'

Intimidating

I have been Taobaoing for baby items. I am almost done with my shopping except some items which I would like to get it a bit later and also not online. I bought a coconut - latex - bamboo fabric - urine proof mattress from China. It really seems like a good mattress, compared to the ones in Malaysia that has coconut filling. Malaysia ones only have coconut filling without the mixture of other materials. Either that or pure latex but I think latex might be too soft for a newborn and I don't want to spend so much on a mattress that has a high chance of being wet by urine. This China mattress can be washed too! So just try. I also bought a good-looking mummy bag. Yellow in colour and looks stylish for a diaper bag. Just indulging myself. Today our baby cot arrived home too! Yet to set it up. Hope it is good :)
