Vaccine and Poonami
I was struggling with letting baby Rei latch on me because my breasts were so painful. Probably caused by the pump, probably caused by her previous tongue tied latch, or other reasons. It started from my right breast first and then slowly my left breast started to feel the pain. I could not really pump too because the flange size did not suit me - too big and too small. They caused my breasts to be even more painful. So I was so depressed. My breasts were so engorged but I could not empty them well. I had to hand express to at least provide a little relief. Then when I thought maybe I was having thrush, I just broke down. It was all too much a hurdle for me. I want to breastfeed her but there were just so many obstacles. I felt like a failure and that the thought of having thrush which would be passed to little Rei was the last straw. Mum saw and she said don't be too hard on myself. I have been a good mother so far. T-T I guess I was a little hormonal too. Or having some mother instinct / mood moment etc. Well, my flange arrived yesterday evening and I tried to use it. It was good! I guess I found my size finally. Could empty my breasts of milk finally! :)
Anyway, yesterday morning too, mum and I went to Wong Clinic at Sungai Chua for Rei's second dosage of Hepatitis B vaccination. It's just too bad that we are in the midst of pandemic. If not, I would have brought her to Klinik Kesihatan which would have saved us a bomb. Future vaccinations have to be done in private clinics now because it is just too risky to be at overcrowded KK. Sad. Yang could not come to bring us because he has some flu and also his parents might have been exposed to Covid-19 patients at their golf course. So leaving mum and Rei in the car, I went to register first. Luckily there were not many people. I went back to the car and brought them over and it was already our turn. Only one person could enter the doctor's room though. I went in with Rei and doctor did measurements and some checkups for Rei. I asked her questions, as many as I could remember - thrush, gas, feedings, vaccinations, poop etc. Then the doctor injected Rei. She scrunched up her face and it slowly turned red. Then she cried for a bit until the doctor did a magic hold on her and she stopped. It was really quick. Like...4 seconds of crying. Good job Rei! After that, doctor swaddled her up and Rei totally forgot about the injection already. She was however really interested in looking around the new environment, absorbing everything. The cost of the vaccine is Rm75. Cheaper than the one at Kajang town which we were supposed to go.
When we went back home, we placed Rei on the Leaf. Had lunch and all. Suddenly Rei was a bit fussy but no cry so I went to check on her. I heard the sound of her pooping! Oh yeah, she had not been pooping for the last one and half day so the sound of her shart was very welcoming. I was happy and clapped to celebrate. Until I saw the front of her pants had yellowish stain. She was wearing a white shirt so it was very obvious. I then lifted up her shirt and saw swirls of mustard yellow paste on her stomach! OMG! I realised she just did a POONAMI! I cried out for mum and she was horrified too looking at it. Removed her diaper and wow...it was SO FULL. The poop looked like some thick curry paste and it had overflown at all corners of the diapers. How could such a small tiny being pooped out so much! D: We quickly cleaned her up and all. Rei whined uncomfortably a bit but it is understandable. I would not feel comfortable too to be coated with poop all over my lower half body. So now, this poonami might occur again.... because she hasn't pooped today yet. D:
Yang might not be able to come in the coming two weeks as CMCO is going to be implemented again tomorrow. I hope this virus situation will be over soon. Don't rob us of potential memories that we could have if there isn't any virus. :(
